Centcomm 25th Aug 2013, 7:44 PM edit delete reply

im trying - DC will update at 9 PM but i wanted to just drop a little something on you guys :D
highlander55 25th Aug 2013, 7:47 PM edit delete reply

It seems things may be looking up for Galina but something tells me there is still quite a way to go until this story is resolved. (Oops- another opinion snuck in there!)
Stormwind13 25th Aug 2013, 8:13 PM edit delete reply

Unfortunately, I think you are right highlander. Galina still has some more to endure before things truly get better.
Centcomm 25th Aug 2013, 11:40 PM edit delete reply

that would be a yes Gali still has a few more miles to go..
cattservant 25th Aug 2013, 8:27 PM edit delete reply

Fortunately!
The more complex and convoluted The Plot,
The higher the page count.
The higher the page count the better The Art.
The better The Art and The Plot,
The more the Comments and the Happier the Readers!

True, Cat. Very, very true. :-)

And the more the old brain gets stirred by the need to keep up with the comments. :-D
cattservant 25th Aug 2013, 10:30 PM edit delete reply

It's those 'nano-endorphins' simulating frontal lobe stimulation.
mjkj 25th Aug 2013, 7:35 PM edit delete reply

Wow, Captain Kiku really allows her slack...

*hugs and comforts Galina*

So, that voice is really from Japan. So it might be from Tokio Rose's precessor (or is ancessor better?)

PS: Yayy for early update :)
Centcomm 25th Aug 2013, 7:45 PM edit delete reply

yep it is from japan .. :P

yeah Kiku actually underestands her plight :P
Mayyday 25th Aug 2013, 8:01 PM edit delete reply

Heh. Lowest-bidder bullshit. So true.
Centcomm 25th Aug 2013, 8:11 PM edit delete reply

isnt it ?
Stormwind13 25th Aug 2013, 8:12 PM edit delete reply

Never forget your weapon is made by the lowest bidder! :-D
Centcomm 25th Aug 2013, 11:40 PM edit delete reply

LOL
Antonious 26th Aug 2013, 9:38 PM edit delete reply

Since I make or heavily modify (in effect remake) my own weapons, they ARE made by the lowest bidder. But the quality is the opposite of the norm for that situation.
Stormwind13 27th Aug 2013, 6:11 PM edit delete reply

Did you actually take bids, Antonious? :-D

And that is a difference between manufactured and CRAFTED. :-) One is good for getting lots of weapons out the door, but the other almost always has better quality. :-)
cattservant 25th Aug 2013, 8:34 PM edit delete reply

>>SKEEEEEEEE<< "Red Edges"!
>>SHHKHHHHSSSSS<<

[Very nice job of drawing out the 'reveal'!
If we're allowed a little speculation...
A fairly old* Proto-Rose who is very interested In what Galina represents for somewhat pressing personal reasons.]

*(Perhaps nearly as old as Dr. Kotko. They seemed to have at least been professionally acquainted.)
Stormwind13 25th Aug 2013, 9:08 PM edit delete reply

Galina 'knows' something about the person behind the voice, without KNOWING exactly what it is. Locked memories? Suppressed memories? A memory worm that didn't quite get all of the pieces gobbled up?

Now we have to wait some more to see what is coming. CentComm is EEEEEVVVVVIIIILLLLL. :-)
cattservant 25th Aug 2013, 9:39 PM edit delete reply

Galina 'recognizes' that voice. She probably heard it on earth during the time she was in her 'infant stage'.

The question could be how closely did "Red Edges" work with Dr. Kotko? She certainly recognized Galina for who she was as soon as she saw her scans.
jamie59 25th Aug 2013, 9:51 PM edit delete reply

So are we about to see Rose's smiling face?
Gali should be seeing some people she wishes to see soon.
Stormwind13 25th Aug 2013, 9:59 PM edit delete reply

Sounds like people that are in her corner at least. Which might help her outlook. :-)
Centcomm 25th Aug 2013, 11:41 PM edit delete reply

gali has friends :D she just doesnt realize it yet..
Centcomm 25th Aug 2013, 11:41 PM edit delete reply

( at Jamie ) we shall seeeee!
Highlander55 26th Aug 2013, 8:31 AM edit delete reply
Or it could be a Taylor ancestor.
Stormwind13 26th Aug 2013, 5:45 PM edit delete reply

Very good point, Highlander. Definitely a possibility, though I don't think they were prominent yet. The war is just ramping up, the Taylor's helped save humanity AFTER the war's end (see here).
highlander55 26th Aug 2013, 10:19 PM edit delete reply

Stormwind13- I was thinking more of an ancestor who figures out how to incorporate Galina's tech into what can be used in DC time.
Don B. 26th Aug 2013, 10:47 PM edit delete reply
I see you've got the surly teenager expression down pat.
Centcomm 28th Aug 2013, 8:35 PM edit delete reply

Thankys!
CyberSkull 27th Aug 2013, 1:58 AM edit delete reply

I'm pretty sure bitter sarcasm is an indicator of self-awareness and sentience.
Sheela 28th Aug 2013, 5:26 AM edit delete reply

The person behind the voice ?
It's MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! >_<

Just kidding, offcourse. :)
Stormwind13 28th Aug 2013, 5:45 PM edit delete reply

A talking doggie? That would be... ODD. On the plus side, might pull Galina out of her funk. :-D

Of course, in that case I would have to get a bar of soap out. Doggies are NOT allowed to use that language... Or at least not without CONSEQUENCES! :-)
cattservant 28th Aug 2013, 8:21 PM edit delete reply

Soap made out of salmon fat!
Highlander55 28th Aug 2013, 8:29 PM edit delete reply
Maybe she's a dogfish and would love the Salmon fat soap? (her picture is just camouflage)
Stormwind13 28th Aug 2013, 8:33 PM edit delete reply

Don't want her to LIKE it. Kind of defeats the purpose. Hard lye soap... If she SURVIVES it, she will NEVER use that language again! Of course, might not have a TONGUE either which could make speaking difficult. :-D
Centcomm 28th Aug 2013, 8:35 PM edit delete reply

has a funny image of talking fish now ... :P
Centcomm 28th Aug 2013, 8:35 PM edit delete reply

LOL
cattservant 28th Aug 2013, 9:38 PM edit delete reply

@Highlander55:
Careful, you'll get Sheela all lit up!
LooeyQ 30th Aug 2013, 9:03 AM edit delete reply

Familiar voice you say? ! I wonder who it could be?!
GhostRider 17th Nov 2015, 11:20 AM edit delete reply
Yes, Galina, we all know that voice....er...font.
