Rose is much less openly bitter here in the past. She still has, dare I say, empathy.
Centcomm 1st Sep 2013, 9:01 PM edit delete reply

yup - shes not crushingly rude .. yet :D
Stormwind13 1st Sep 2013, 9:30 PM edit delete reply

Hasn't survived 900 more years to get (FURTHER) disenchanted with Humanity. I imagine all the time helps explain why Rose is the way she is.

Still she is undoubtedly right, most people wouldn't be able to see Galina for what she represents, but only what their limited minds can think of.
ranger_brianna_new 2nd Sep 2013, 12:23 AM edit delete reply

Again, there's always hope. I think any writer, for instance, would have a better chance. I mean, yeah! They know there's zero chance of comprehending her perfectly--but them recognizing that fact would put them ahead of the curb compared to most. :P
Stormwind13 2nd Sep 2013, 12:46 AM edit delete reply

True, Ranger; however, not that many people are writers. :-D And not that many writers are likely to be in a position to impact Galina's life in the immediate future.

It will be ignorant people (not necessarily stupid people, just ignorant), like maybe the nurse, making decisions in Galina's life. :-\
Centcomm 2nd Sep 2013, 9:20 AM edit delete reply

pretty much gali has a lot of factors that conspire to take away her freedom of choice.
Stormwind13 2nd Sep 2013, 6:40 PM edit delete reply

Did you say, Freedom of Choice? :-D

She seems rude enough talking to the captain. She helped in Galina's creation, was a good friend to Dr. Kotko, and knows she's dealing with a two year old teenager who is also the first of her kind. I'd say that this is why she's being so nice. Mind you, I would think that if Galina spent much of her time acting like an asshat, Rose would probably be rude to her as well.
Stormwind13 1st Sep 2013, 9:43 PM edit delete reply

That is an interesting reason for Galina to 'know' Tokyo Rose. She has heard her for several years, but never as the primary channel. :-) Not one that I thought of, but I can see it as a possibility now. Very creative. Congratulations to whichever one of you two came up with that concept. :-)
Tokyo Rose 1st Sep 2013, 10:18 PM edit delete reply

Why thank you. :)
Stormwind13 1st Sep 2013, 10:28 PM edit delete reply

Kind of figured you might be the one Rose, but didn't want to 'assume' anything. :-D

And thank you for your work on the comic, helps create an intricate, interesting world for us to enjoy. :-)
Centcomm 2nd Sep 2013, 9:19 AM edit delete reply

hey when it comes to verbal sculpting Rose ( the writer ) is a master :D
cattservant 1st Sep 2013, 9:56 PM edit delete reply

Rose 'needs' Galina on her team!

LOL
jamie59 1st Sep 2013, 10:22 PM edit delete reply

Sounds like Gali has a good friend in Rose.
Stormwind13 1st Sep 2013, 10:26 PM edit delete reply

I think Rose would make a better friend than she ever would an ENEMY. :-)
Centcomm 2nd Sep 2013, 9:18 AM edit delete reply

you have NO idea strom :D
Stormwind13 1st Sep 2013, 10:55 PM edit delete reply

So if Galina is right, the form we are seeing of Tokyo Rose is artificial (whether the image is computer generated or an artificial body) and the voice is computer enhanced, but the manner of speaking doesn't seem to be artificial.

So, that could mean, a human 'hacker' using an avatar or a full-body cyborg... or could she be the prototype before Galina's prototype? :-D

Speculations abounds, but facts aren't leading to a solid answer, yet. :-)
cattservant 1st Sep 2013, 11:08 PM edit delete reply

Galina's existence is going to open significant number of possibilities for Ms. Rose.
mjkj 2nd Sep 2013, 8:08 AM edit delete reply

Hmm, that makes me thi.thi.think of M.M.Max He.He.Headroom... :p
Centcomm 2nd Sep 2013, 9:17 AM edit delete reply

I remember that.
mjkj 2nd Sep 2013, 5:57 PM edit delete reply

:)
Sheela 2nd Sep 2013, 7:20 PM edit delete reply

Oh man, Max Headroom is such a blast from the past. :D
Centcomm 2nd Sep 2013, 6:08 PM edit delete reply

At Stormwind

I actually cant comment much on rose "yet" :D
Stormwind13 2nd Sep 2013, 8:21 PM edit delete reply

Oh I *KNEW* that you weren't going to be able to comment, CentComm. My comments were for the rest of the commenters, to see if they wanted to kick ideas around on who/what Tokyo Rose might be. :-)
mjkj 2nd Sep 2013, 8:04 AM edit delete reply

Gah, how comes I missed that update??? :S

Oh, Rose already has red eyes.

So, now we know where LunaComm comes from...

Ah, Rose is kind to Galina - even asks her if she might call her by her first name :)

*/me likes Rose*
Centcomm 2nd Sep 2013, 9:18 AM edit delete reply

yep shes always had red eyes :D

and yes shes kind to Galina :D
you didnt think everyone would hate her ?
velvetsanity 2nd Sep 2013, 10:07 AM edit delete reply

Rose? Spend energy and time on hate? Nah. Bitterness and spite to hell and back, sure, but not hate. :D
mjkj 2nd Sep 2013, 5:57 PM edit delete reply

Nah, I did not think everyone - but it seemed the majority would...
Centcomm 2nd Sep 2013, 6:07 PM edit delete reply

Rose isnt well known in this time. :D
Sheela 2nd Sep 2013, 7:21 PM edit delete reply

Ah, but the world is well known to tokyo rose .. even at that time. XD
Weiser 2nd Sep 2013, 4:41 PM edit delete reply

Nice twist of that story! :)
Centcomm 2nd Sep 2013, 6:07 PM edit delete reply

why thank you :D
CyberSkull 2nd Sep 2013, 7:54 PM edit delete reply

I would venture that even robust minds have difficulty in grasping infinite possibility as well.
cattservant 4th Sep 2013, 1:13 AM edit delete reply

You know, it occurs to me that Rose could be considered Galina's Djinn* godmother...

*(Though, 'Djinn' might not be the right 'flavor'.
'Fairy' certainly isn't!
Perhaps something 'deep and 'proto-greek'.)
Highlander55 4th Sep 2013, 8:38 AM edit delete reply
Cat- how about her Muse?
cattservant 4th Sep 2013, 8:48 AM edit delete reply

Yes, but perhaps something a little more 'hands on'...

[I was thinking about Ms. Silver's lovely "Cerberus of the Cybergates" as an example of what I was trying to express.
Galina is most definitely an 'Interface between Analog and Digital'!]
GhostRider 17th Nov 2015, 11:25 AM edit delete reply
