*cheers for Amy*

I seriously hope Amy gets plenty of screen time to develop as a character. I want to see just how she grows and develops. She's presenting sound logic, but I'm not sure if she's coming across like a Vulcan because she *just* sparked, because of her programming, or because of her construction, or even if it's a combination of two or even all three. Not that that's a bad thing. I happen to like Vulcans.

Live long and prosper. image
Centcomm 28th Jan 2014, 12:02 AM edit delete reply

yep that you are..:D her actions will be explained :D
Sheela 28th Jan 2014, 3:02 AM edit delete reply

Yeah, now lets hope her logical thinking can remember that Galina need her collar back.
velvetsanity 28th Jan 2014, 12:09 PM edit delete reply

She might not be aware that the collar blocks the pain. In which case I hope Galina can convey the information through the pain.
Dragonrider 28th Jan 2014, 12:02 AM edit delete reply

*Paging Dr. Granger--Paging Dr. Granger*
*Dr. Granger the results of your Physical Exam just came in~~~Colonoscopy reports~They found your head~~Repeat~~Colonoscopy reports~They found your head*
Stormwind13 28th Jan 2014, 12:05 AM edit delete reply

LOL Dragonrider. That had to be a DEEP scan to find it though. :-)
Dragonrider 28th Jan 2014, 12:06 AM edit delete reply

Loki made me do it, could not resist. Another thought along the same lines, when he changes his mind; wonder what he does with the diaper.
Centcomm 28th Jan 2014, 12:14 AM edit delete reply

HAHAH - dies laughing nice one!
cattservant 28th Jan 2014, 12:39 AM edit delete reply

The good news:
They extracted his head.
The bad news:
They had to remove his ears.
Centcomm 28th Jan 2014, 12:44 AM edit delete reply

HAHAH :D ok thats a good one :D
Sheela 28th Jan 2014, 3:02 AM edit delete reply

And the nose.
Stormwind13 28th Jan 2014, 12:06 AM edit delete reply

And ::HUGS Amy:: You GO Girl. :-)

Galina saved and Granger put in his place (away from Galina!!!) :-)
Centcomm 28th Jan 2014, 12:14 AM edit delete reply

Yes she did .. :D
jamie59 28th Jan 2014, 12:08 AM edit delete reply

Amy found the Doctor's stop button.
Centcomm 28th Jan 2014, 12:14 AM edit delete reply

Yup and pushed with a LOT of force.
Stormwind13 28th Jan 2014, 12:15 AM edit delete reply

I wish she would have used the button on the end of his nose instead, jamie... Straight punch into and exiting out the back of his head... Nothing IMPORTANT in the way. :-p
Dragonrider 28th Jan 2014, 12:20 AM edit delete reply

Actually it did sound like she broke at least two bones in the forearm not sure if she didn't get the wrist, and fingers.
Centcomm 28th Jan 2014, 12:21 AM edit delete reply

Yep radia and ulna ... :D
Dragonrider 28th Jan 2014, 12:33 AM edit delete reply

Well we know one thing even if she lets him go ain't no way he gonna pick up any scalpel's, laser saw, socket wrenches or screwdrivers to mess with Galina, but bet he sure as H gonna try to get Amy torn down for scrap.
Centcomm 28th Jan 2014, 12:36 AM edit delete reply

Wait for it....
Dragonrider 28th Jan 2014, 1:30 AM edit delete reply

No don't wanna wait. Just apply Clorox to the gene pool and remove this idiot before he reproduces. At the risk of sounding like the Queen from Alice in Wonderland. OFF WITH 'IS 'EAD~~~SEND THE TWERP OUT THE WASTE DISPOSAL LOCK. BUT OFF WITH 'IS'EAD NOW!!!
Centcomm 28th Jan 2014, 1:31 AM edit delete reply

hehe! good one :D
velvetsanity 28th Jan 2014, 12:11 PM edit delete reply

Now now, Dragonrider, Rotter hasn't even been born yet...and that aside, Rotter may be an uncouth bastard, but he's really not *that* bad a guy. Granger, on the other hand... :D
Dragonrider 28th Jan 2014, 4:55 PM edit delete reply

Didn't say Send Rotter said send the Rotter an expression I picked up overseas a few years ago.
velvetsanity 28th Jan 2014, 6:11 PM edit delete reply

there's only one Rotter, though :D

And referring to Granger as 'a rotter' is an insult to Rotter :D
Stormwind13 28th Jan 2014, 7:11 PM edit delete reply

velvet has a point there, Dragonrider. Linking Rotter to this idiot is insulting, even by accident.
Dragonrider 28th Jan 2014, 7:51 PM edit delete reply

All right you two I changed it.
Tokyo Rose 28th Jan 2014, 7:28 PM edit delete reply

She hasn't outright broken anything yet--just hairline fractures to the radius and ulna right now from the pressure of her grip. If he keeps on squirming, she'll keep on squeezing. Really, he should be glad she grabbed his arm and not his nuts.
Dragonrider 28th Jan 2014, 7:49 PM edit delete reply

If she had the Vienna Boys Choir would have had a new member.
Stormwind13 28th Jan 2014, 7:56 PM edit delete reply

That is always a later option, Rose... If Granger continues to be... difficult. :-D
Centcomm 28th Jan 2014, 9:52 PM edit delete reply

Point - I forgot to mention that in my earlyer post >_< shes "showing her claws" :D
highlander55 28th Jan 2014, 12:23 AM edit delete reply

I wonder what she will do with the fist she made with her left hand? Ohh! That would reeeally hurt if she punched Dr. Granger!
Centcomm 28th Jan 2014, 12:37 AM edit delete reply

dear god if she punched him it would be .. messy .. think of a pnumatic hammer. her skeleton is steel backed with fibrous cable "muscle" she can punch hard enough to crack concreate...
Dragonrider 28th Jan 2014, 12:28 AM edit delete reply

*Raises Hand* Question on page 135 Rose says that Captain Kiku's family has faithfully served her for years. Does this mean at one point Rose was sentient human who became AIS to run the Asian Sphere of Influence. Also give the typical Oriental "long view" is she planning world domination with the action in Datachasers only being another step in her plan?
velvetsanity 28th Jan 2014, 12:36 AM edit delete reply

I'd say it means [REDACTED] :D

punny thought here: what if AIS meant 'Asian Influence Sphere'?
Centcomm 28th Jan 2014, 12:38 AM edit delete reply

sorry .. I cant comment on that... >_< HUGS?
Dragonrider 28th Jan 2014, 12:46 AM edit delete reply

Well if I can't get answers I guess I'll have to do more bad jokes. How can Doc Granger sit on it and talk out of it at the same time?
Centcomm 28th Jan 2014, 1:15 AM edit delete reply

HEHEH I like that one too ..
Dragonrider 28th Jan 2014, 1:20 AM edit delete reply

That's not the one I put up originally but they probably get worse from here on in.
velvetsanity 28th Jan 2014, 12:47 AM edit delete reply

See? I told you it meant [REDACTED]! :D
Sheela 28th Jan 2014, 2:57 AM edit delete reply

There has been ... crackpot theories regarding Rose's origins before, in the comments before, dontcha know ?
Tokyo Rose 28th Jan 2014, 7:31 PM edit delete reply

It could simply mean that the Yukimura family has been similar to the Taylor family in that they've produced quite a few people who've made themselves useful. Kind of like how we say that someone's family has served their country for generations, with multiple members of the family going into military or civil service.

EDIT: Also, world domination is for simps with no real forethought, like Prince Douchebag. The paperwork alone would take all the fun out of it, never mind actually dealing with people. :D
Stormwind13 28th Jan 2014, 7:55 PM edit delete reply

LOL Rose. And too true. I remember a graphic novel, Emperor Doom. :-D
velvetsanity 28th Jan 2014, 10:13 PM edit delete reply

Let's not forget about the vagueness of the plural. It could simply mean that her family has served Rose for "years" as in "more than one year".
Stormwind13 28th Jan 2014, 11:41 PM edit delete reply

The gravity with which she said it though leads me to think it was 'generational' velvet. I might be misreading it, but that was my take on it. :-)
velvetsanity 29th Jan 2014, 1:20 AM edit delete reply

Maybe that's just what Rose wants us to think? :D
Aetrun 29th Jan 2014, 6:16 AM edit delete reply
Excuse me Miss Rose, but I must disagree with your comment on world domination. Being the figurehead is for the simps, yes, but letting the simps take over all the paperwork and then playing them like finely tuned instruments from the shadows for your own amusements and ends- that is true domination (nobody can remove your power if they don't know you have it).
Stormwind13 29th Jan 2014, 7:09 PM edit delete reply

Watch it Aetrun... if you threaten to shine a light on Tokyo Rose's grip on the shadows of the world she might decide to do you in. :-D

I'm pretty sure Tokyo Rose knows ALL about controlling things from the shadows though... She has been doing it for years after all. :-)
cattservant 28th Jan 2014, 12:35 AM edit delete reply

Jet's program rearranging is quite effective.
Centcomm 28th Jan 2014, 12:38 AM edit delete reply

lets just say Jet listened to what Galina told him.
WinterJay 28th Jan 2014, 1:12 AM edit delete reply
Heck YES!Rock ON, Amy!! :) (and by the way, I don't think it's particularly healthy to blaze through 750 pages of Datachasers in a day, but believe me, I simply couldn't stop myself)

I think these comics are better (and more addictive!) than CHOCOLATE. Now that's saying something <3
Centcomm 28th Jan 2014, 1:15 AM edit delete reply

Whoa - 750 pages NICE ! welcome to the fold! IM really glad you enjoy the comics :D
Sheela 28th Jan 2014, 2:58 AM edit delete reply

Welcome to the dork side of the comic, here we make silly comments and smoke salmon. :)
MikeLinPA 28th Jan 2014, 3:11 PM edit delete reply

*smacks Antonious on top of head~~~HEY YOU~~~I do the bad puns here*
Antonious 29th Jan 2014, 7:23 PM edit delete reply

I felt .... nothing ....OW OW OW!
Stormwind13 28th Jan 2014, 7:14 PM edit delete reply

I remember being there myself, WinterJay. And then I went back and read it again so I could start commenting... :-D
WinterJay 28th Jan 2014, 7:59 PM edit delete reply
Ahaha this is so fun already. You all are hilarious xD
mjkj 28th Jan 2014, 1:21 AM edit delete reply

Yayy, Amy you go, girl :)

*hugs Amy and Galina*

True, CentComm, she is... :D

Wow, about one ton? She is quite strong...
Centcomm 28th Jan 2014, 1:31 AM edit delete reply

yep - its from being "over built" :D lets hear it for hyper engineering :D
mjkj 28th Jan 2014, 1:54 AM edit delete reply

I guess I know somebody who is regretting that now...
Sheela 28th Jan 2014, 3:00 AM edit delete reply

Well, she was buildt by a military conected company, so she might be intended for "light" combat .. so it rather makes sense that she has some grunt.

Besides, it makes it easier for her to be the BIG DAMN HERO when she twice as strong as anyone around her. :D
mjkj 28th Jan 2014, 5:15 AM edit delete reply

only twice?

I think it is more like 5 times - at least...
Stormwind13 28th Jan 2014, 8:02 PM edit delete reply

Actually, it appears that there is someone that lifted 975 pounds... so Amy can do a bit more than twice that.

Now as you can see he wasn't a 5'-something frame that looked pretty non-threatening. :-D In fact, he was HUGE and looked like he could eat a bear, after tearing it apart bare (or bear) handed. :-D
mjkj 28th Jan 2014, 11:44 PM edit delete reply

So, you say the average person lifts about 450 kg? Well, maybe on the moon...

...and those people we have seen do not look like weight lifters, so I would say they are able to lift about 200 to 250 kg max (in normal gravity).

...but I think CentComm was referring to normal earth gravity when she put that in the alt text...
Stormwind13 28th Jan 2014, 11:57 PM edit delete reply

Oh no mjkj I was never talking AVERAGE. I just wondered if the twice was against the PINNACLE of human ability, not the 'average' person. I wouldn't expect the average person to be able to pick up more than 100kg in truth. Anything beyond that, they've had to WORK at (or just had work that required it :-D).
mjkj 29th Jan 2014, 6:41 PM edit delete reply

Ah, sorry, I got you wrong.

But I believe none of that fashion is in the vicinity right now. I would guess somebody working out on the station might be able to lift up to 200 or 250 kg (under 1 g) - I doubt there would be some bodybuilder present that could do more.

So that would result 5 to 4 times more that dear Amy can do. :D
Centcomm 29th Jan 2014, 12:06 AM edit delete reply

Yes actually thats in 1 Gee - Amy can lift 2000 LBS :D thats also dead lift ( doing it properly of course )
mjkj 29th Jan 2014, 6:42 PM edit delete reply

Thank you for the clarification :D
Antonious 29th Jan 2014, 7:31 PM edit delete reply

Geez! That must come in handy finding a good parking spot.

Amy sees a loser taking up two parking spaces, one of which is a handicapped space, with his bad parking skills. Amy yells, "HEY !$#* Head! Let me show you how to park that!" She then goes over grabs some convenient portion, ignoring the sound of crumpling metal and breaking plastic, and drags the loser's vehicle into the proper space and drops it.
Centcomm 28th Jan 2014, 3:17 PM edit delete reply

She actually has a Military Frame - shes a modified Combat Robot. :D
talantus 28th Jan 2014, 12:57 PM edit delete reply
that was awesome! amy to the rescue!
i know galina was pretty creeped out by amy until now so hopefully this wil raise her opinion of her ^_^
Centcomm 28th Jan 2014, 3:17 PM edit delete reply

Yep if Galina could cheer she would be jumping up and down going YAAAY! :D
talantus 28th Jan 2014, 8:41 PM edit delete reply
THAT, i`ve got to see lol ^_^
Nobody 28th Jan 2014, 3:55 PM edit delete reply
Remove both of his hand and he will be unable to harm anybody for a while. Remove his head and he will be unable to harm anybody permanently.
Centcomm 28th Jan 2014, 9:53 PM edit delete reply

hehe point :D
Tokyo Rose 28th Jan 2014, 11:21 PM edit delete reply

It is a long-standing tradition that, upon achieving true sentience, usually the first decision a constructed intelligence makes is "humans suck and I should kill them if they threaten me, or if they annoy me, or if I just want to find out what noises they make when I crush their weak meatframe heads".

Bucking tradition is fun, though!
Sheela 29th Jan 2014, 12:35 AM edit delete reply

Yeah I bet.

You opted out of the crushing of heads and went with the 'Sodomise' option instead, didn't you ?
Centcomm 29th Jan 2014, 12:38 AM edit delete reply

maaaaybe ... winks at Sheela .. :D
Sheela 29th Jan 2014, 1:46 PM edit delete reply

Oh my ...

Centcomm is coming on to me and Rose is turning rosey ?
*checks to see if the sky is falling*

Whatever you do, don't pinch yourself!
Dragonrider 28th Jan 2014, 4:02 PM edit delete reply

Yano this arc has begun to personify the old saying:
*I'm not saying kill all the stupid people, I'm just saying remove all warning labels and let it sort itself out*
Centcomm 28th Jan 2014, 5:52 PM edit delete reply

Darwin awards for everyone! ( well those that deserve it anyway ! ) :D
Stormwind13 28th Jan 2014, 9:49 PM edit delete reply

Runs away and hides before CentComm decides *I* need a Darwin Award. =O
Dragonrider 28th Jan 2014, 10:28 PM edit delete reply

Oh No Stormy no Darwin Award for you Here is what is in your future.
Hint: *You* will NOT be the one holding the tail OR the one looking at the camera.

"As the entity Galina is not currently in a position to adequately voice her displeasure, I have taken the liberty of collating a list of one hundred and twenty-eight insulting phrases in eight human languages, which I shall now recite in parallel using four distinct voices at sixteen times the speed of ordinary speech."
Centcomm 29th Jan 2014, 2:42 PM edit delete reply

OOHHH wow.. and Galina would understand every.. single... one :D
Sheela 29th Jan 2014, 4:31 PM edit delete reply

He he, channeling Cyrano de Bergerac much ?

"If you're gonna insult me, at least do so intelligently." :)
Stormwind13 29th Jan 2014, 9:16 PM edit delete reply

If Galina could comprehend ANYTHING through the pain she is in. The pain might be drowning out too much of the sound to separate the individual channels out.

Ordinarily though, Galina could probably not only understand it, but at least match him with her come back. :-D

Caley Tibbittz Collopy 16th Mar 2014, 2:09 AM edit delete reply

I like how strong she is here.

One of my favorite things about Trek's Data was that he could gently pet a cat OR hold back and cab running at full rev with one arm. It reminds us that life is a little different for even the most human androids.

Galina's narritive is not always accurate :D
