Mothers are undistractable!
jamie59 15th May 2014, 12:18 AM edit delete reply

Mom is acting more like dad. Look out Jet.
Centcomm 15th May 2014, 2:30 PM edit delete reply

hehe she is , is she ?
cattservant 15th May 2014, 12:24 AM edit delete reply

Edict is quite svelte!
Centcomm 15th May 2014, 2:30 PM edit delete reply

glad you like him ! :D
plymayer 15th May 2014, 2:27 AM edit delete reply

All the pieces coming together. Making all preparations for getting underway.
Centcomm 15th May 2014, 1:54 PM edit delete reply

yes they are .. moving the first line out :D
mjkj 15th May 2014, 4:10 AM edit delete reply

Wow, Captain Kiku came just in time. And yayy for Edict's new body.

Yup, all right, mom is seeing straight through Jet... :D

...I wonder what Gali will answer Colonel Taylor: Ms Kotko, Galina or Gali?

Centcomm 15th May 2014, 1:53 PM edit delete reply

yep Dr Cooper has "mom-dar" all figured out.

Galina actually likes "Gali" as a nickname.. but only to her friends. :D
mjkj 16th May 2014, 5:58 PM edit delete reply

So, what does she propose Colonel Taylor to use?

They are not friends (yet), so, the formal Ms Kotko, or the more familiar Galina?

*hugs Gali* :)
Sheela 15th May 2014, 5:29 AM edit delete reply

What happened to Edict's old body ?
Centcomm 15th May 2014, 1:52 PM edit delete reply

its currently in storage if he needs it
Sheela 16th May 2014, 12:30 PM edit delete reply

... why ?
Stormwind13 15th May 2014, 7:03 AM edit delete reply

The Doctor shouldn't get TOO concerned. Not like there isn't going to be chaperones along on this ride. I mean, Captain Kiku and Colonel Taylor's presence will squash anything TOO amorous from going on I would think. And Edict will probably interject his presence to 'protect' Galina's virtue. :-D
highlander55 15th May 2014, 8:31 AM edit delete reply

If they want to do anything there isn't a damn thing anyone can do about it. Unless Luna Star is open and no secluded areas which I doubt.
Stormwind13 15th May 2014, 9:42 PM edit delete reply

Well highlander, if the picture of the Luna Star (seen in the vote incentive) is accurate then the crew compartment isn't much larger than the Delta Flyer. That isn't all that much space.

So Galina and Jet would probably be hard pressed to find ANY privacy. They will spend the week getting there in each other's pockets I think. :-) And I seriously doubt they could do anything that everyone else on board wouldn't instantly know about, even if they MANAGED to close themselves off somewhere. I mean, any sounds they made would probably be heard... And the scent of any activity would likely be easily detected. :-)
Centcomm 15th May 2014, 1:52 PM edit delete reply

Well she has to at least put up a token argument :D
Antonious 15th May 2014, 7:46 PM edit delete reply

It IS a parental commandment. "Thou shalt give anyone having "romantic" interest in your "children" shit."
Sheela 16th May 2014, 12:32 PM edit delete reply

Wait, waiiit a damned minute - I'm supposed to give them shit ?

Damn and blast .. I gave them cookies !
mjkj 16th May 2014, 6:01 PM edit delete reply

Oh, you did not gnaw on them? Wow...

*is impressed*

...not even on their shoes?

Tokyo Rose 17th May 2014, 12:15 AM edit delete reply

I can just see Jet thinking "Oh shit, Edict's phasers are set to 'cockblock'."
highlander55 17th May 2014, 11:55 PM edit delete reply

Nah! Edict has a Virgin Alarm so it goes off before he does. Just like Dot Matrix.
Sheela 18th May 2014, 1:44 PM edit delete reply

Oh dear ... does that mean that Galina has a large ... hairdryer as well ?
highlander55 18th May 2014, 5:43 PM edit delete reply

Maybe Jet has a can of liquid Sworch. I mean Gali doesn't get tired and...
Dragonrider 15th May 2014, 8:47 AM edit delete reply

Worry less about Jet and more about them meeting a black hole drive
Centcomm 15th May 2014, 1:51 PM edit delete reply

so very true :D
Dragonrider 15th May 2014, 2:40 PM edit delete reply

You won't have nearly as much sleepless time waiting for her to come home from dates, as you will waiting for her to come home from a black hole engine.
Outlaw 15th May 2014, 9:34 AM edit delete reply

Hey friend! Your stuff, as always, just gets more and more impressive! Keep up the awesome work!
Centcomm 15th May 2014, 1:51 PM edit delete reply

bows thank you for the fine compliment :D
Hornet 15th May 2014, 11:51 AM edit delete reply
Okay that looks like a pretty crappy chassis they stuck poor Edict in, I think if I was him I would have requested returning to my old Soviet yet stylish model.
Centcomm 15th May 2014, 1:50 PM edit delete reply

it has several advantages over his old one.. one of such are a pair of 3 MW lasers in the arms and hes a lot stronger not using magnetic joints. ( think about that a sec :D )
Sheela 16th May 2014, 12:34 PM edit delete reply

Oh, he's in a military chassis now ?
Mayyday 15th May 2014, 1:36 PM edit delete reply

"The board is set. The pieces are moving..."
Centcomm 15th May 2014, 1:49 PM edit delete reply

awesome quote .. and yes they are moving... :D
Sheela 16th May 2014, 12:35 PM edit delete reply

Damn, I hate it when my chess pieces are moving on their own !

Oi, don't move until I tell you to!
Bloody peasants !
mjkj 16th May 2014, 6:04 PM edit delete reply

maybe they are trying to play fetch with you to distract you from the game? (though I guess some smoked salmon would be more effective...)

Timotheus 15th May 2014, 5:09 PM edit delete reply
My guess would be Edict has now got less mass, much better sensors/com system/dexterity, and will be far more useful on board the ship than he would as a general purpose mining/maintenance robot.
Centcomm 15th May 2014, 5:18 PM edit delete reply

Thats correct - this body is expressly designed for exploration and ship functions and repairs :D
Timotheus 15th May 2014, 5:13 PM edit delete reply
I'd assume the magnetic joints were to allow rapid exchange of appendages/tools for various jobs and/or functions?
Centcomm 15th May 2014, 5:19 PM edit delete reply

yep also they gave a degree of flexibility however that flexibility would be a detriment here. So they went with standard hardened joints.
Timotheus 15th May 2014, 5:54 PM edit delete reply
Of course now he'll have something to grump about. ("weak, flimsy, tiny, toy, in my old frame I could have just...") He IS a Russian mining robot.
highlander55 15th May 2014, 10:46 PM edit delete reply

Sounds like he might be TeeDee's ancestor. LOL
Sheela 16th May 2014, 12:37 PM edit delete reply

That would actually be hilarious, if TeeDee was based around an off-seed of Edict.

It would explain *so* much ! :D
