Sound like a problem Ceci was having. He needs to heed it more than she did.
Centcomm 9th Sep 2014, 12:17 AM edit delete reply

A bit huh? except in this case... whos right...>_<
Sheela 9th Sep 2014, 8:04 PM edit delete reply

To be fair, he doesn't even consider that if his combat computer could be hacked, then so too could his vision be hacked.

Of course, he's under pressure 'n' stuff, so I guess he's kinda excused.
highlander55 9th Sep 2014, 9:57 PM edit delete reply

I wonder if Betty can disable weapons if programming determines user is not capable of accessing the situation correctly?
dpallee 9th Sep 2014, 12:10 AM edit delete reply

Perfect timing for me...I jump online and there's a new page of Luna Star....yah! Great job as always.
Centcomm 9th Sep 2014, 12:18 AM edit delete reply

Thank you ! :D not sure what time it updates for you guys but i set it to midnight ( Comic fury time ) :D
JacobJSebastian 9th Sep 2014, 12:24 AM edit delete reply

I suddenly have this going through my head:
JacobJSebastian 9th Sep 2014, 12:30 AM edit delete reply

oops, THIS is the version I was thinking of:
DizzasterJuice 9th Sep 2014, 12:32 AM edit delete reply

Don't listen to Betty! Them's murder turd aliens and they want to eat your spleen!
Special effects really making this page. Are those props or photoshop brushes?
JacobJSebastian 9th Sep 2014, 12:48 AM edit delete reply

But are they flying PURPLE murder turds?
DizzasterJuice 9th Sep 2014, 12:56 AM edit delete reply

Naw, flying purple murder turds lay their eggs in you and their larva eat their way out when they hatch. These look like the run of the mill red murder turds. They just straight up eat you raw and wiggling.
Centcomm 9th Sep 2014, 5:24 PM edit delete reply

its both actually.. im using a "beam" prop then reworking it in Photoshop.. in addition to layered effects ( flashes sparks and such ) light is several L point lights to simulate the "glow" of the beam :D

glad you like it :D
Haegan2005 9th Sep 2014, 1:16 AM edit delete reply

omg... you were not kidding. This rates a 5! Not that I have ever posted with the devious duo anything less then a 5 :D
Centcomm 9th Sep 2014, 5:24 PM edit delete reply

hehe :D thank you !
plymayer 9th Sep 2014, 1:51 AM edit delete reply

The problem with relying exclusively on tech.
Centcomm 9th Sep 2014, 5:25 PM edit delete reply

well in this case Halloran is doubting what his tech is telling him ..
Sheela 9th Sep 2014, 8:06 PM edit delete reply

Meanwhile, he's relying 100% on what some of his other tech is telling him.
cattservant 9th Sep 2014, 2:04 AM edit delete reply

Of course it won't be easy!
Centcomm 9th Sep 2014, 5:25 PM edit delete reply

no it wont :D
Timotheus 9th Sep 2014, 2:41 AM edit delete reply

He seems to have misplaced his shootin' iron at least. Not that this will make him less deadly in close combat unless she's a master of Ecky-Thump.
Centcomm 9th Sep 2014, 5:26 PM edit delete reply

Actually he holstered it .. - I just didnt show it ..
Timotheus 9th Sep 2014, 7:38 PM edit delete reply

Okay, but I will add that his holster does appear to be empty in that drawing, unless that's what you mean by didn't show it - it's invisible.
Stormwind13 9th Sep 2014, 8:37 PM edit delete reply

I think the motion blurring is covering it up. I can see the holster, but can't tell where it stops and the gun (if any) exists.
mjkj 9th Sep 2014, 3:17 AM edit delete reply

I just hope they all will survive...

Oh, Widget missed.

...and you, mr. Taylor, better listen to Betty...

Centcomm 9th Sep 2014, 5:27 PM edit delete reply

Yes .. and Taylor is soo much faster than widget.. I hope people realize just HOW quickly this is happening ..
Matt Knab 9th Sep 2014, 4:37 PM edit delete reply

Well, at least there are some fail-safes in place!
Centcomm 9th Sep 2014, 5:27 PM edit delete reply

you mean the ones he has total access to ?
Matt Knab 9th Sep 2014, 5:29 PM edit delete reply

Centcomm 9th Sep 2014, 5:46 PM edit delete reply

exactly ....
Stormwind13 9th Sep 2014, 8:33 PM edit delete reply

The ones that he is in the process of ordering to get out of his way so he can kill the soul sucking 'aliens'. :-p

Yeah, this is NOT going to be pretty I fear (though it WILL be visually stunning, knowing CentComm).
jas 9th Sep 2014, 5:06 PM edit delete reply

And things get worse, as predicted. I kind of like how protocol is getting in the way of well, making sure they stay alive/functional. Great movement by the characters on this page. :)
Centcomm 9th Sep 2014, 5:47 PM edit delete reply

heh its certainly trying .. thank you .. I wanted these pages to "pop" with action .. :D
Sheela 9th Sep 2014, 8:08 PM edit delete reply

Things can always get worse.
Y'know, the glass is half empty and all that ?

Not to mention the glass is cracked, and the water is poisoned, etc., etc. ... and TeeDee is certain it's all Centcomm's fault.
Centcomm 10th Sep 2014, 1:34 PM edit delete reply

Sheela 10th Sep 2014, 7:36 PM edit delete reply

... and then the glass breaks, and you cut yourself on the broken glass, and then of course, the bloody biological parts gets infected ...
XRzer04 9th Sep 2014, 6:40 PM edit delete reply
Even ancient ground transports had collision avoidance systems which would take control in the event of erratic or dangerous operator control inputs.
Those systems were to this cranial implant as a grain of sand would be to an integrated circuit device.
I would say if Betty can't override and lock up his motor functions, or at least knock him out-for his protection and that of the confirmed friendlies he's attacking, then Betty is a crude tool.
Sheela 9th Sep 2014, 8:11 PM edit delete reply

Well, if the human brain, that Betty is supposed to serve, cannot override and lock up it's cybernetic implants, then the brain is a crude tool ?

I doubt anyone would consider the human brain .. crude.
So it get's primary access to everything.
Cherub 10th Sep 2014, 10:33 AM edit delete reply
I have to agree with Sheela here, Betty is a tool to help make decisions, for a soldier to have a computer that could knock him out does not sound like a good tactical move because any system, no matter how good, can be hacked.
Centcomm 10th Sep 2014, 1:36 PM edit delete reply

pull up ! pull up ! Betty cant actually override his actions but she can refuse to do targeting solutions and such. if its in Attack mode it would be running analysis on the target figuring out how to take it apart .. Halloran is doing all this by instinct ..
Stormwind13 10th Sep 2014, 7:06 PM edit delete reply

And his instincts are pretty bloody good. :-p
Howard 10th Sep 2014, 6:00 PM edit delete reply
In my pilot training we was always told to verify these messages before ignoring them if he was his normal self I think he would attempt to subdue them and get verification of his AI hack before going commando on them. Maybe Its not just his eyes but his judgement that's been screwed with.
Centcomm 10th Sep 2014, 6:49 PM edit delete reply

His judgement is compromised here due to pain and other issues.. whats sad is Halloran is actually a nice guy..
