Who is it who says, "This just got serious?"
anonymous coward 30th Oct 2014, 2:12 AM edit delete reply
Someone other than the person who says, "Things just got frivolous," probably. That's just a guess though.

Lets get dangerous?

Hard choices
about harder choices
about no choices...
Stormwind13 30th Oct 2014, 5:40 PM edit delete reply

I think it is more about Soft Choices, knowing Galina, cat. :-)
CptKerion 30th Oct 2014, 12:55 AM edit delete reply
Space the compartment! It's aa sure shot!
Stormwind13 30th Oct 2014, 5:39 PM edit delete reply

That would be Galina's last choice, I think Cpt. She likes the Colonel, despite him being military. She knows too much about him, his family to go that route. Galina isn't ruthless enough for that. And Jet is smitten with her and probably will give her a chance before he would go that route.

While Galina is unlikely to physically defeat Colonel Taylor, she might be more than a match for him mentally. So going to be interesting to see how this goes.
DLKmusic 30th Oct 2014, 11:12 PM edit delete reply

I'm with you, Storm. I'm really hoping she comes up with a non-violent solution to stop Colonel Taylor. and if she does, you'll get a "Yes you did!" too!
DLKmusic 30th Oct 2014, 1:09 AM edit delete reply

For everyone who predicted Colonel Taylor was going to do this, before you say "I told you so", I'm saying "Yes you did"
Dragonrider 30th Oct 2014, 1:27 AM edit delete reply

Thank You
Stormwind13 30th Oct 2014, 6:56 AM edit delete reply

LOL DLK. Yes, Dragonrider did get it right.
CptKerion 31st Oct 2014, 4:35 AM edit delete reply
And this is why every ship should have redundant security personnel and every nuclear device should require a minimum of three people to activate, one to authorize arming procedures and two to do them.
Dragonrider 30th Oct 2014, 1:27 AM edit delete reply

Hate to say it she gonna have to kill Col. BFN, maybe she can get to be as good a shot as he is and make a lucky disabling hit, then Disarm Boom-Boom.
Tokyo Rose 30th Oct 2014, 7:12 PM edit delete reply

This plan would be good, if she weren't physically incapable of picking up a gun, much less using it . . .
plymayer 30th Oct 2014, 2:39 AM edit delete reply

Never activated any of them (not my job). Have slept next to nuclear missiles and torpedos though.
Dongaria 30th Oct 2014, 3:33 AM edit delete reply

Great camera angle on the first panel! Really puts the action and tension in the scene!
mjkj 30th Oct 2014, 4:13 AM edit delete reply

Poor Gali *hugs her*

I hope she finds a way to stop colonel taylor without hurting him... Which would devastate her...

*hugs Gali*

Stormwind13 30th Oct 2014, 7:01 AM edit delete reply

True mjkj. Galina would be devastated if she had to hurt someone. Even as compromised as the Colonel is though, I can't see Galina being a major 'physical' threat to him. He has entirely too many advantages over her.
DizzasterJuice 30th Oct 2014, 10:57 AM edit delete reply

Someone please just open the cargo bay doors and space this guy already.
Dragonrider 30th Oct 2014, 4:02 PM edit delete reply

Cant the explosives are in the exit vehicle designed to blow up the other vessel, the one with a black hole propulsion system. Not real good thinking on the part of Am-Com blow up something controlling a black hole and turn the black hole loose inside our galaxy. Can you say bye-bye life as we know it, on the up side we would not have to worry about Douchie in the future because there would be no future.
velvetsanity 30th Oct 2014, 5:10 PM edit delete reply

It's likely that if the ship goes boom, the singularity will collapse. Considering that it's the ship's propulsion system and possibly its primary power generator (using a more conventional power generation system to create the initial energy to create the singularity as its engine is started and warmed up, basically. Similar to how the Romulans do it...) it likely is using a portion of the energy it generates to sustain and stabilize the singularity.

If I'm right and it is similar to how Romulans do it, ship go boom, power is cut, singularity implodes and ceases to be due to lacking necessary mass to sustain itself.

I'm guessing that a steady stream of Higgs Boson particles are necessary to sustain it.
Stormwind13 30th Oct 2014, 5:34 PM edit delete reply

I would like to think anyone that could generate a singularity, Dragonrider would have it arranged such that it would fail SAFE. If something happened to the ship's power, you would want the singularity to collapse and evaporate. Not munch on your ship and then on anything else in the vicinity as an out of control monster.

So however the singularity is generated the end result would be the same as velvet is talking about. No sustaining power, no singularity.
Tokyo Rose 30th Oct 2014, 7:15 PM edit delete reply

It's a housebroken singularity. It doesn't eat solar systems or leave dark-matter puddles on the carpet when your back is turned. :)
Hydrargyrum 30th Oct 2014, 10:01 PM edit delete reply

Ooo! Rose, where do I upgrade?
Matt Knab 30th Oct 2014, 4:23 PM edit delete reply

So now there's a time limit to the whole point and click plan. The pressure is on!
Stormwind13 30th Oct 2014, 5:42 PM edit delete reply

Eleven? No, I think you spun the knob twice... More like TWENTY. :-p

I hope AVI realizes what he's done, quickly. He's woken Kiku up, and if he is not careful, she is going to get up and try to go deal with the Colonel. He needs to 'ensure' that she rests and recovers before she undoes his work.
Tokyo Rose 30th Oct 2014, 7:22 PM edit delete reply

She's physically incapable of getting up right now, what with having had a lot of her blood put on the outside of her body and being mostly dead for a couple of minutes. That does not stop Avi, who knows who he's dealing with, from being quite ready to sedate her if necessary.
Stormwind13 30th Oct 2014, 8:09 PM edit delete reply

The question is, does Kiku KNOW she can't get up? She is stubborn enough to try. I mean, she is struggling to move around. Putting her into a timeout nap just sounds so much SAFER. :-D
velvetsanity 30th Oct 2014, 9:12 PM edit delete reply

Mostly dead, eh? Should I start referring to Avi as Miracle Max? And assume his medical treatment of her was focused around a chocolate coated pill the size of a walnut? :D
Dan 30th Oct 2014, 11:29 PM edit delete reply
The good news is that the Captain didn't almost die in a bizarre gardening accident.
Rms2000 31st Oct 2014, 12:55 AM edit delete reply

Everyone is talking about spacing the colonel or shooting him. I'm not sure why, but that bothers me. It seems to me that his hallucinations are most likely the result of prolonged exposure to alien transmissions, probably combined with a certain amount of sleep deprivation and exacerbated by all his implants. That being the case, would it not be much more preferable (not to mention in Galina's style) to stun the colonel and drag him into the happy-box until he recovers?
DLKmusic 31st Oct 2014, 2:32 AM edit delete reply

It bothers me too, Rms, as I've been saying for 4 strips, lol...
