Hero = Stupidly brave!

Yeah, Galina is fulfilling that formula. :-)

And she is PRETTIER than most heroes. Works for me.
Centcomm 4th Nov 2014, 1:03 AM edit delete reply

That she is :D
mjkj 4th Nov 2014, 8:34 AM edit delete reply

Yup definitely :D
Dragonrider 4th Nov 2014, 12:07 AM edit delete reply

Never share a foxhole with someone who is known to be brave.
Centcomm 4th Nov 2014, 1:03 AM edit delete reply

oh so very very true..
CptKerion 4th Nov 2014, 12:07 AM edit delete reply
If this weren't a good story with slightly merciful authors I'd be going "well, we're doomed."
Stormwind13 4th Nov 2014, 12:40 AM edit delete reply

Only Galina is sure to survive, Cpt. The rest may yet all die horribly. :-P
Centcomm 4th Nov 2014, 1:03 AM edit delete reply

RR Martin we are not .. :D
jas 4th Nov 2014, 11:39 AM edit delete reply

LOL! You might be distantly related, though? (j/k!)
Stormwind13 4th Nov 2014, 6:57 PM edit delete reply

I thought that RR learned from YOU, evil CentComm. :-D
highlander55 5th Nov 2014, 12:27 AM edit delete reply

For a second I thought it said Rowland and Martin.

If I was jet and my newly minted lover was planning something like this I would lock her out and just vent atmosphere to the deck Iaylor it on. Even Combat Cyborgs have to breath!
Centcomm 4th Nov 2014, 1:03 AM edit delete reply

point taken..
Beltboy 4th Nov 2014, 6:14 AM edit delete reply

Your assuming that his cyborg tech can't keep him alive long enough that there then isn't time to re-pressurise and dis-arm the nukes after he's unconscious/dead.
Stormwind13 4th Nov 2014, 8:04 AM edit delete reply

Or worse that if Colonel Taylor is backed into a corner of having the air taken away, he won't launch off a nuke directly from the bay. If he feels that his mission must be completed, he could sacrifice himself by firing it off (and dying in the rocket wash).
Dragonrider 4th Nov 2014, 7:20 PM edit delete reply

Jett has 2 choices.
A) Do exactly as he is told and hope she survives.
B) Take action himself to protect her and lose her forever.
Centcomm 4th Nov 2014, 9:35 PM edit delete reply

what would YOU do dragonrider :D
jamie59 4th Nov 2014, 12:49 AM edit delete reply

LOL! Taylor won't know what hit him. Love how the Russian keeps sliping out.
Centcomm 4th Nov 2014, 1:03 AM edit delete reply

Well it IS her native language .. shes just more comfortable with it :D
DLKmusic 4th Nov 2014, 3:21 AM edit delete reply

I've seen that look before... I've been on the receiving end of that look before... I almost feel sorry for Taylor...

mjkj 4th Nov 2014, 4:56 AM edit delete reply

I like Edict's logic :D

...yeah get that annoying alarm!!!

Stormwind13 4th Nov 2014, 7:00 PM edit delete reply

Yeah, mjkj. I think Edict has got Galina figured out better than Galina does!
cattservant 4th Nov 2014, 5:54 AM edit delete reply

Stupid Alarm
is alarming!
mjkj 4th Nov 2014, 8:33 AM edit delete reply

*lol* it is :D
Matt Knab 4th Nov 2014, 6:31 PM edit delete reply

Still love the robots. I'm assuming they're speaking in a robotic/mechanical voice, but I find the experience enhanced if I imagine them speaking with the voice of a snobby english butler. Hope you don't mind. :)
velvetsanity 4th Nov 2014, 7:09 PM edit delete reply

But they're not made by Sirius Cybernetics Corporation and they don't have Genuine People Personalities!

(Do you know where your towel is? :D )
Matt Knab 4th Nov 2014, 7:12 PM edit delete reply

Omg, Alan Rickman is even better!

Wasn't there a movie once where John Cleese was the voiceactor for the AI in a car ?
Stormwind13 4th Nov 2014, 7:39 PM edit delete reply

Kiku!!!! Such LANGUAGE (At least if google translate got it right)! And you don't know if Colonel Taylor's parents were married or not, I bet. :-D
Tokyo Rose 4th Nov 2014, 8:05 PM edit delete reply

Some are born, some are made ;D
Centcomm 5th Nov 2014, 3:14 PM edit delete reply

someone translated Kiku's little slur..
CptKerion 5th Nov 2014, 2:11 AM edit delete reply
A case study in why all nuclear devices should require at least two people operating at the same time to arm.
Timotheus 5th Nov 2014, 5:49 AM edit delete reply

Are we going to see a copy of "Arming/Disarming Your Nuclear Device For Dummies" show up eventually?
Centcomm 5th Nov 2014, 3:14 PM edit delete reply

yes- I think you are right..

At Tim - Probably
Stormwind13 5th Nov 2014, 7:33 PM edit delete reply

Except on this mission, too much chance of fatalities. They wanted SOMEONE to be able to deliver the nukes if they were needed (and they REALLY seemed to think they were going to be needed).

Of course, there is a problem when the guy in charge of them goes Bug Fu¬Ęking Nuts. :-P
