And I think it is interesting that Colonel Taylor called Galina his eldest daughter's name. I think that would make it VERY hard for him to pull the trigger on her.
From what Colonel Taylor said earlier, Rose, I think he is PROUD of his daughter. I can't see him shooting her as long as he could see her as his daughter (and not some fuggly monster).
He hasn't shot her yet, she has about 3 minutes left before his psychosis kicks in full strength, he already thinks she is allied with the aliens in the attack he sees in his mind because she is now no longer human in his eyes.
Nice... And I like how you gave Galina a trump card (Amelia), and she refused to play it.
Do you girls ever get tired of me calling your strips Awesome?
I want to see Galina and Amelia get to interact. Even if Colonel Taylor does NOT make it. I have a feeling that they would get along.
Lord help Colonel Taylor though if he is still around and that happens. TWO of them going at him. He would be DOOMED. Especially if Amelia is as cute as Galina. Colonel Taylor would be more doomed than he would be around the armed nuke, even if was unstable. :-D
yah know, several of those nukes are armed and loose. Firefly may not be the brightest Idea, even if the result of one of them going off inside the hull would be a "bright" result.
Well, he is at least willing to listen, but he still has his doubts as to what she is saying. If he believed her all the way, his gun would be holstered.
We, as humans, tend to trust what our senses tell us. After all, they keep us alive and not trusting them can get you very dead very quickly in most situations. Then you have the odd curve ball like imposed hallucinations...
This guy would would be a good character for the hub thread i think. I still can't believe I read all 630 pages.
I have enjoyed the story immensely so far. The characters have had a depth developed for them that permits us to empathize deeply with them and that makes for dang good story telling.

I just hope Gali comes through with what she said...
...and with a 'lovely' name like that she must be great. :)
