Time to raise your voice and get his attention. Snap him out of his delusional state.

Bad idea, might snap him into violent action instead. Have you never had experience with babysitting drunks? The thing to do here is be as gentle and insistentas you can and only raise your voice or be harsh when they're about to do something that absolutely needs to be stopped before there's permanent damage.
highlander55 20th Nov 2014, 9:56 PM edit delete reply

And that's why she raised her voice.
Centcomm 21st Nov 2014, 3:51 PM edit delete reply

Gali spoke sharply .. not loudly :D
jamie59 20th Nov 2014, 12:36 AM edit delete reply

Almost like talking to a child.
Rms2000 20th Nov 2014, 1:00 AM edit delete reply

A very, very dangerous child...
CptKerion 20th Nov 2014, 1:25 AM edit delete reply
she needs a snickers bar to give him. Snickers solves everything.
Stormwind13 20th Nov 2014, 8:03 AM edit delete reply

Oh so true, Rms.

LOL Cpt.
Sheela 20th Nov 2014, 10:13 PM edit delete reply

Unfortunately snickers do not solve overweight. :(

Wait for it... Wait for it...

Awesome! She didn't play the trump card. Her best option is to try and show she is NOT trying to trick him.

Tokyo Rose 20th Nov 2014, 7:31 PM edit delete reply

We debated how she should deal with that before we decided that it's most in-character for Gali as well as just plain the smartest thing *not* to take advantage of his delusional state. He's sliding in and out of lucidity; if she tried to pretend that she's his daughter, he'd only become more suspicious and angry when he realized the deception.
mjkj 20th Nov 2014, 3:17 AM edit delete reply

Go, Gali, you are good on track...

...should have brought the tin foil hat...

Dragonrider 20th Nov 2014, 4:43 AM edit delete reply

Well one thing is established the gene pool that leads to Helios Taylor is in place because I don't think there is anything that can reason with Colonel BFN. Hope I'm wrong but think he is too far gone.
mjkj 20th Nov 2014, 12:41 PM edit delete reply

Well, he just needs to visit Jet, then he will be fine again...

Stormwind13 20th Nov 2014, 6:39 PM edit delete reply

Then he'll still have to live with what he did, mjkj. I mean, he attacked and (nearly) killed an unarmed tech and Captain Kiku, plus destroyed a robot during his craziness. For someone as disciplined as Colonel Taylor, that is going to be a tough pill to swallow I think.

"But, the aliens..." should NEVER be used as an excuse. Not with a serious face, anyway. XD
Tokyo Rose 20th Nov 2014, 7:36 PM edit delete reply

Unless you genuinely believe that they're to blame 'cause you're in a delusional state. It helps when there's actual solid evidence that there ARE aliens close at hand. Like a giant ship from outside the solar system in orbit around Saturn.

A friend of mine once saw a medical chart wherein a woman who'd been diagnosed with schizophrenia, but had gone off her meds, came to the emergency room claiming that her alarm clock was trying to pimp her out. She was absolutely serious and firm in her belief that this was actually happening. The human brain's weird all by itself, but it gets even more bizarre when it's not functioning properly. O_o
Sheela 20th Nov 2014, 10:16 PM edit delete reply

Sometimes, within the first 10-20 seconds of waking up, things in my room can look like just about everything from a pile of clothes to a troll.

It's quite disorientating.
Howard 20th Nov 2014, 8:31 PM edit delete reply
She gave it her best shot but I am guessing they are still gonna have to vent the room. For all the evil genius that it Cent and Rose they are forgiving to there characters, I have a feeling they may both survive this. But then again there was that thing in datachasers about it being a "ghost ship"...
Kitty 20th Nov 2014, 10:43 PM edit delete reply
If she can get him to put the gun down and leave with her, she could see if he'll agree to wear a blindfold. That way he won't be seeing any more "aliens."

But don't they have to stop whatever he was doing with the nukes first?
Tokyo Rose 21st Nov 2014, 9:17 PM edit delete reply

Capgras delusion: master level :D
Timotheus 22nd Nov 2014, 7:06 AM edit delete reply

They can be armed, but as long as they're not on a timer its reversible, or at least the situation can be gotten around.
Stormwind13 23rd Nov 2014, 11:59 AM edit delete reply

Point them toward Saturn (not near the alien craft) and kick them out the door. Saturn would barely even NOTICE them, that much I can guarantee.

Removes their threat from the Luna Star. Makes sure they CAN'T be used on the alien craft, which I know Galina is all for (and Rose). Plus I think there are still several not armed in case you decide you need them to try nuclear diplomacy after all.
GhostRider 17th Nov 2015, 2:30 PM edit delete reply
I think there's PTSD combined with the affects of the transmission from the looks of things. (Mistaking Galina for his daughter, behaving homicidally, activating weapons, developing an unusually short fuse.)
