Some very dramatic shots there!
Centcomm 6th Jan 2015, 12:58 AM edit delete reply

thank you - these shots are pretty important to setting the stage for the next bit :D
Dragonrider 6th Jan 2015, 12:10 AM edit delete reply

I haven't commented the last few pages until I was sure where our devious production crew actually had that scene end. However one comment about the last panel, "Famous last words young lady."
Centcomm 6th Jan 2015, 12:59 AM edit delete reply

yep thats true :D
jamie59 6th Jan 2015, 12:35 AM edit delete reply

She's pushing herself hard. Maybe to hard.
Centcomm 6th Jan 2015, 12:59 AM edit delete reply

There is a LOT riding on her ...
Sheela 6th Jan 2015, 4:49 PM edit delete reply

Plus, her android body is pretty tough.
After all, it was developed for military use.
Centcomm 6th Jan 2015, 8:55 PM edit delete reply

Actually as Gali told May .. shes not that tough.

Shes actually about as resilant as a girl her age and build. her bones maybe plastic and carbon fiber but they aren't steel
Tokyo Rose 6th Jan 2015, 9:42 PM edit delete reply

Um... Gali wasn't developed for military use in the "front-line soldier" sense. She's an "intelligence asset". Dr. Kotko never designed her to be anything but a person.
Sheela 7th Jan 2015, 7:34 PM edit delete reply

Yeah, but it has been mentioned that she can stay awake for long periods of time, which makes me think her stamina is pretty decent.

Just because someone cannot benchpress a small car, does not mean they are not tough.
Stormwind13 7th Jan 2015, 10:50 PM edit delete reply

As proven when Rainer tackled her and damn near crippled her before threatening to blow her head off. No, Galina is NOT a combat model for sure. :-D
HeSerpenty 6th Jan 2015, 12:46 AM edit delete reply

Glad to see you posting again, Centy!!!

I was gettin worried about ya <3
great page!
Centcomm 6th Jan 2015, 12:59 AM edit delete reply

Thank you! I still need to get caught up on my web comics I missed >_< its been a busy month :D :D
stormbringer77 6th Jan 2015, 9:59 AM edit delete reply

This month has been hectic for everyone,I'm sure.My router died on me and I was without my PC for over a week, but my new router has treated me well so far.And I'm SO GLAD the show has gone on!I was afraid you had stopped entertaining us due to financial headaches or something.Thank you!
Centcomm 6th Jan 2015, 8:55 PM edit delete reply

dont worry ill find a way to keep going :D just hitting a rough patch.
Stormwind13 6th Jan 2015, 12:50 AM edit delete reply

Love panel one especially. The human ship, the alien ship and Saturn. Kind of says it all. :-)
Centcomm 6th Jan 2015, 1:00 AM edit delete reply

yep .. it kinda does.. :D
Vivocateur 6th Jan 2015, 2:40 AM edit delete reply

That shiiiiiiipp :0
It looks too good!
Centcomm 6th Jan 2015, 8:55 PM edit delete reply

witch one ? :D
Vivocateur 6th Jan 2015, 9:04 PM edit delete reply

I really like the shot in the first panel.
plymayer 6th Jan 2015, 3:11 AM edit delete reply

She might be a little frightened by the EVA. I'm all warm and fuzzy getting to read a new page. Especially one that progresses the story right along :)

Always hated long transits to station and back.
Centcomm 6th Jan 2015, 8:56 PM edit delete reply

yay ! yeah im glad too things are gonna move a bit fast here ..
xpacetrue 6th Jan 2015, 3:41 AM edit delete reply

"Ship's log, acting captain Galina Kotko recording."

Cent, I think that was the perfect way to start this page. And while it may appear a bit wordy, it progresses the story and ties up the loose ends. (I dislike how a lot of fiction leaves so many loose ends.) Nicely done, all around. :D
Sheela 6th Jan 2015, 4:51 PM edit delete reply

Gotta love that the people back in earth tried to command her around and she basically went "Nahh, na na, naah na!" :D
Centcomm 6th Jan 2015, 8:56 PM edit delete reply

thank you - im trying to make sure no gaping holes are left :D
Quieteyes 9th Jan 2015, 5:48 AM edit delete reply
What about the Star Date? Can't have a Ship's Log without a Star Date. :-)
Stormwind13 6th Jan 2015, 8:02 AM edit delete reply

Impressed by the starfield in the third panel. Especially the sun, which actually appears about that small from that far out (judging by the pictures taken from out that way). Staring into the starry abyss, be careful not to fall into it Galina. :-)
Centcomm 6th Jan 2015, 8:57 PM edit delete reply

Thanks I used a program called Celestia to get that star field :D
DizzasterJuice 6th Jan 2015, 12:17 PM edit delete reply

Love the shot in that first frame.
I have that Porsimo model too but I changed it a bit a shit ton.
Centcomm 6th Jan 2015, 8:57 PM edit delete reply

yeah I changed it too .. made it a lot longer .. wish I could have cut it up or chopped out the cockpit .. the one it came with was horrible.
TheD-Wrek 6th Jan 2015, 12:22 PM edit delete reply

That first establishing shot.... my god. So awesome. :D
Centcomm 6th Jan 2015, 8:58 PM edit delete reply

Yay ! thank you !
sigpig 6th Jan 2015, 1:39 PM edit delete reply
Your artwork is amazing, and the attention to detail re: actual distances in our solar system (communication lag, size of the sun, etc) is refreshing to see in a web-comic. My only question is, did you model the alien starship on one of the Babylon Stations from Babylon 5? I'm not suggesting a direct copy, but the idea of a central spine with several tori and what appear to be "solar panel" extensions look similar to the Babylon 4 space station. However you came up with the idea, it looks great!
Centcomm 6th Jan 2015, 9:00 PM edit delete reply

we are trying to keep a few things as real as possable to ground the story properly the alien ship is build out of prefab parts there isnt anything that i know that looks like it out there the radiators were modeled by a friend on comic fury on my design the concepts were started by me but vetted by my friend Mister Black .. more or less :D
Tokyo Rose 6th Jan 2015, 9:48 PM edit delete reply

Cent and I both have an interest in science fiction--

*is blown over backwards by the concentrated shout of "NO, REALLY?!"*

--but Mr. Black is a very fervent sci-fi and space-program fan. We ran a couple of potential designs past him before giving up and saying "okay, YOU design it, we'll figure out what we can actually do model-wise and try to meet in the middle".
Matt Knab 6th Jan 2015, 5:53 PM edit delete reply

Can't wait to see what this object holds in store. A very Arthur C. Clarke moment going on here. :)
Centcomm 6th Jan 2015, 9:00 PM edit delete reply

oh its gonna be a crackerjack prize .. didn't i tell you guys that?
Stormwind13 7th Jan 2015, 6:31 PM edit delete reply

No, no you didn't CentComm! :-D

::Grumbles:: I never got anything neat like that in MY Crackerjack boxes!
Tokyo Rose 7th Jan 2015, 7:26 PM edit delete reply

My God. It's full of stars.

. . . and hearts and moons and clovers and horseshoes . . .
Sheela 7th Jan 2015, 7:36 PM edit delete reply

Gold Star for Rose ?
Howard 6th Jan 2015, 8:31 PM edit delete reply
Cent, Rose, you would be proud of me, I got in a discussion about AI's with someone in another comic yesterday and I told them about your comic. I think I just scored you another reader! :P
Centcomm 6th Jan 2015, 9:00 PM edit delete reply

WOOO! thanks you!
DLKmusic 7th Jan 2015, 3:47 AM edit delete reply

Once again, Awesome work. Wanted to let you girls know that I Got some extra work gigging, so I won't be able to post as often as I have been, But Keeping up with DC and LunaStar are still a priority for me!

I'll still post if I think it's important enough, or if you pull something out that blows me completely away (like the cover for chapter 8, for instance).

Edit: Not "IF" but "WHEN" you blow me completely away!
Centcomm 7th Jan 2015, 7:52 AM edit delete reply

well then we are gonna have to step up our game here :D
Joseph 7th Jan 2015, 7:43 AM edit delete reply
I just came over from Cassiopeia Quinn. There was a brief fight in the comments section for the Jan. 2 page, where one commentator said that the AI was "not a real guy" and I said they were "bigoted against non-human intelligences."

They said that if I liked reading about silicon-based personhood so much I should just "go read Lunar Star," so I came over here and did that.

You've got an enjoyable comic!
Centcomm 7th Jan 2015, 7:50 AM edit delete reply

HAHHA thats amazing ... I gotta thank him for the referral welcome to the gang and yes I do try to avoid the "poser" faces.. I actually use DAZ studio though not Poser :D

again welcome aboard :D
Sheela 7th Jan 2015, 7:39 PM edit delete reply

Ah, you should also check out Datachasers for even more AI goodness. :)

Watch out for the comments though, they can get a little long sometimes.
I blame the commenteers! ... wait, I'm one of them .. dammit!
mjkj 8th Jan 2015, 2:27 PM edit delete reply

Great they made it :D

...on to first contact...

*hugs Gali*

PS: The alien ship looks great - I hope for a wallpaper shot... ;)

Centcomm 9th Jan 2015, 6:07 PM edit delete reply

that can be arranged :D
Centcomm 9th Jan 2015, 6:43 PM edit delete reply

ok its up as a vote incentive at top web comics :D
mjkj 10th Jan 2015, 8:43 PM edit delete reply

Wow, Thank You *hugs* :D
Quieteyes 9th Jan 2015, 5:52 AM edit delete reply
Er, did I miss something? I thought the ship was slowing down. That would mean their engines were facing the alien spaceship and firing (and have been all this time). It will certainly need to be oriented that way to slow it's approach as it gets closer.
Centcomm 9th Jan 2015, 5:58 PM edit delete reply

t6he ship already did the slowdown flip and now is flipped back to make sure the launchers are pointed at the other object its just coasting and has been - we just didnt show that..
