I find it worth noting--or acknowledging in advance before anyone else really points it out--that, over the course of Gali's exploration of the ship, Jet easily breaks the entire comic's record for "Number of Times Somebody Says Galina's Name in an Alarmed Tone of Voice".

Take my word for it, or wait a while and count 'em up, but I sure know that I've written a variation on "Gali?" an awful lot lately. :D

Gali, you are doing great *hugs her*

I hope so, too.

*lol* @alt text :D

Centcomm 19th Feb 2015, 2:54 AM edit delete reply

the movie shes referring to is a actual movie :D
Miles 19th Feb 2015, 3:17 AM edit delete reply
I've seen it. I've also seen Rene Laloux's other movie, which is even weirder.
Centcomm 19th Feb 2015, 3:38 AM edit delete reply

it is a seriously wierd movie .. I originally had Galina and jet talking about how Galina found the original funny as hell when comparing to the English dubbed with her languages she is THE person you want to watch forengen films with as she can translate on the fly .. well except when shes laughing too hard ...
Quieteyes 22nd Feb 2015, 10:04 AM edit delete reply
Weirder? Than "Fantastic Planet"? That's saying something because that was a seriously weird animated movie. O.O
Stormwind13 19th Feb 2015, 12:16 AM edit delete reply

I have never actually seen the movie, but I know it is a real movie. So the aliens could be mammoths (Columbian are larger)... or could they be Lactrans ready to put Galina in their zoo? It is all in The Eye of the Beholder.
velvetsanity 19th Feb 2015, 12:18 AM edit delete reply

They're Zentraedi! :D
Stormwind13 19th Feb 2015, 12:23 AM edit delete reply

Ooohhh... That could be bad for Galina, velvet. She can't handle weapons (still) and there are a LOT of weapons around the Zentraedi.
Haegan2005 19th Feb 2015, 1:13 AM edit delete reply

I liked the mecha personally. The veritech fighters ruled, though those were not Zentraedi manufacture.
Centcomm 19th Feb 2015, 2:55 AM edit delete reply

The aliens in that movie kinda looked like blue skinned giants with large eyes and fins for ears :D

They treated humans as pets and or vermin :D
Fairportfan 19th Feb 2015, 12:23 AM edit delete reply

Of course it's a door switch. Isn't it shaped like a key?
Centcomm 19th Feb 2015, 2:55 AM edit delete reply

hehe noticed that did you :D
jamie59 19th Feb 2015, 12:24 AM edit delete reply

Naked Gali in a cage. Jet you have intresting ideas. But of corse you're still a teenager.
velvetsanity 19th Feb 2015, 12:26 AM edit delete reply

Maybe Revenge of the Nerds was right. All jocks think about is sports, all nerds think about is sex...
Centcomm 19th Feb 2015, 2:56 AM edit delete reply

his hormones STILL rule him to a degree .. but it looks like hes not suffering any "robo-phobia" about Galina :D :D
Stormwind13 20th Feb 2015, 8:00 AM edit delete reply

Jet suffers from a desire to be with Galina. I think that hook is well and truly SET into him. He isn't even remotely interested in getting away!
Centcomm 22nd Feb 2015, 5:25 AM edit delete reply

isnt that the truth ...
plymayer 19th Feb 2015, 1:57 AM edit delete reply

A crew of thousands or a crew of a hundred ten miles high.

If Robby the Robot comes out there's a fiver in it for you.
Centcomm 19th Feb 2015, 2:56 AM edit delete reply

Ohh so .. thats a yes to Robby?
plymayer 19th Feb 2015, 3:24 AM edit delete reply

Always been a big fan of Robby. "Welcome to Altair IV."
Centcomm 19th Feb 2015, 3:39 AM edit delete reply

it might date me - but i remember when that came out on late night TV .. back when color TV was COOOOOL!
Timotheus 19th Feb 2015, 4:25 AM edit delete reply

My family had the first color TV in our neighborhood. A huge RCA color monster (at least to me) with a huge antenna that always showed blue as a shade of green. My dad got it so he could watch wrestling in color, which was the first live color broadcast in our area (Chicago).
Quieteyes 22nd Feb 2015, 10:22 AM edit delete reply
Ah, that takes me back.

We had a motor hooked up to our antenna to rotate it for the best reception. We would turn the dial on the box and it would click-click-click loudly as it rotated into place. Most of the stations we could get were in the Tampa/St. Pete area, so they were between north-west and north-east of us. However, Channel 10 was the Sarasota station and it was almost due south. On a good day we could even get Ft. Myers (Channel 11 I think?).
velvetsanity 19th Feb 2015, 10:54 AM edit delete reply

Robby *was* considered an A-list actor for sci-fi shows and movies in his day
Centcomm 20th Feb 2015, 1:05 AM edit delete reply

that is so very true !

Centcomm 20th Feb 2015, 1:05 AM edit delete reply

DizzasterJuice 19th Feb 2015, 11:03 AM edit delete reply

Wow that almost looks like a neon sign.
Wait, I've got it translated!
Centcomm 20th Feb 2015, 1:05 AM edit delete reply

Oh Dizz you crack me up :D ( i do like the sign though :D ) It would turn Gali all kinds of pink :D
Stormwind13 20th Feb 2015, 8:01 AM edit delete reply

Especially if she was suddenly considered one of the girls by walking in the door!
Centcomm 22nd Feb 2015, 5:25 AM edit delete reply

She would die of embarrassment :D
Sheela 22nd Feb 2015, 9:56 AM edit delete reply

She would probably get a lot of tips though. XD

DLKmusic 19th Feb 2015, 5:18 PM edit delete reply

I'm liking Beau more and more! If you need it Beau, you can borrow my shaving strap!

Gives Jet the evil-eye. Oh, And Jet, just because the Landing area is a big hole in the side of the alien spacecraft, it does NOT mean that it's a phallic Symbol.
Centcomm 20th Feb 2015, 1:04 AM edit delete reply

hehe shes actually rather awesome accent and all :D
Matt Knab 19th Feb 2015, 5:30 PM edit delete reply

How very considerate, that door.
Centcomm 20th Feb 2015, 1:04 AM edit delete reply

its a very polite door :D Maybe they will be too!
Stormwind13 20th Feb 2015, 9:25 PM edit delete reply

Or maybe it is a really HUNGRY door... and wants the little bite to come into its dining room!
Quieteyes 22nd Feb 2015, 10:24 AM edit delete reply
"Thank you for using this door." :-)
Stormwind13 20th Feb 2015, 8:04 AM edit delete reply

I'm trying to figure out how the door figured out that Galina needed the door bell lowered? Almost had to be visual, I think. We know that Galina isn't receiving the alien transmission, so can they read her... desires? I didn't think so, but I could be wrong.
Centcomm 21st Feb 2015, 4:48 AM edit delete reply

all will hopfully be clear as mud soon :D
Timotheus 21st Feb 2015, 4:49 AM edit delete reply

My guess would be motion sensors. Her waving her arm up to reach it would signal some mechanism to lower it to the being at the doors height based on the appendage waved. We have the technology to do that now.
Stormwind13 21st Feb 2015, 11:24 AM edit delete reply

Motion detectors MIGHT work, Tim. Some of ours work on IR light, which probably would be useless in that bay with no atmosphere and the temperature of space. Some of ours work on Radar; however, the suit is AM-COM military grade so I would expect it to incorporate radar absorption into it to give a poor return. There is no atmosphere for a simple air pressure switch where the waving of her arm would signal a pressure change.

Which leaves us something like the ultra-beam spy-rays to trigger them. Which given the aliens' technology is well within the realms of possibility.

Of course, it may be even easier than that. Someone may have been watching her. I mean, her craft did come aboard the alien craft, probably tripping several sensors on the way. If I were the aliens I would be watching with curiosity (and a big honking gun) to see what had come aboard. Then adjusting the door bell/door release when they couldn't reach it in the original position.
HOrnet 21st Feb 2015, 11:18 PM edit delete reply
You know that's interesting as I'm sure nobody thinks of it as a person in a wheel chair can reach to a standing mans waist, But I'm sure doorbell height is in the BOCA code somewhere under the topic of "handicapped accessible".
King Mir 22nd Feb 2015, 9:25 PM edit delete reply
It would be easy easy enough to make a motion sensor that's basically a camera with software behind it. There are countless ways an advanced people may detect motion.

To me it looks kinda like it moved when she finally touched the bottom of it: a tactile sensor.

But somebody watching her and letting her through is also a distinct possibility.
Spelledeg 22nd Feb 2015, 10:50 PM edit delete reply

Finally all caught up! :D I'm so glad the Colonel and Kiku didn't end up biting the dust.

I really like your layout on this page, too! Wow. Gali's gone through so much.

I'm very curious about these aliens! :D
Centcomm 22nd Feb 2015, 11:47 PM edit delete reply

Centcomm 23rd Feb 2015, 10:16 PM edit delete reply

Not sure what you mean. I try to answer as much as I can - just get buried in work >_<
