In case it wasn't clear there was a outer door and a inner door the outer being the pale blue and the inner door the greenish metal ( stupid lack of movement..)

Deo 24th Feb 2015, 12:02 AM edit delete reply

i'm calling it right now. this is a space whale.
Stormwind13 24th Feb 2015, 1:20 AM edit delete reply

Pretty sure it isn't an Acanti, Deo. The wrong color and looks too artificial for that. And it sure isn't a Sidri colony.
velvetsanity 24th Feb 2015, 3:21 PM edit delete reply

And from the external appearance alone, we know it's not a leviathan.
Centcomm 24th Feb 2015, 7:01 AM edit delete reply

space whale huh? well we will see :D
Sheela 24th Feb 2015, 4:13 PM edit delete reply

It's a colony of different plants and organisms.
Centcomm 24th Feb 2015, 4:30 PM edit delete reply

that might be closer to the truth :D

Centcomm 25th Feb 2015, 2:20 PM edit delete reply

At CHK - well It could be the Crians -- they installed the Terraformers that helped clean up the planet so yuo actually do have a couple of choices for first contact :D
chk 25th Feb 2015, 2:30 PM edit delete reply

I believe it was alluded to in Data Chasers recently.
Centcomm 25th Feb 2015, 2:41 PM edit delete reply

There are a few peeps here who dont read DC though or may have missed that reference :D ( unlike a certain Marvel mutant comic you dont need to read both comics to enjoy the other :D :D
highlander55 24th Feb 2015, 8:37 PM edit delete reply

Sort of like a barrier reef?
Centcomm 25th Feb 2015, 2:31 AM edit delete reply

could be !
Sheela 25th Feb 2015, 6:29 PM edit delete reply

Multiple alien species. :)

I like the idea that the ship itself could be something like a giant Coral reef, with lots of "fishies" and plants living in it.
Haegan2005 24th Feb 2015, 12:10 AM edit delete reply

This reminds me of a game from some time ago that used live action actors. The Daedalus Encounter I think it was called.

I admit i was a sucker for that game.
Centcomm 24th Feb 2015, 7:02 AM edit delete reply

oh my lord that takes me back :D
Sheela 24th Feb 2015, 4:16 PM edit delete reply

Hrm, I never got around to playing that one.

Heck, I think the last game I played with real actors in it was Wing Commander IV ... which was way back in 1996 !
Centcomm 24th Feb 2015, 4:30 PM edit delete reply

I really enjoyed Privateer :D I did play some of the wing commander series :D
jamie59 24th Feb 2015, 12:44 AM edit delete reply

The floor looks liquid almost like an algae pond.
Stormwind13 24th Feb 2015, 1:09 AM edit delete reply

Yeah it kind of does, jamie.
Tokyo Rose 24th Feb 2015, 1:53 AM edit delete reply

Roger Wilco, Space Janitor, would like you to know that he spends HOURS running the floor buffer to get that lovely slick shine! ;D
Centcomm 24th Feb 2015, 7:03 AM edit delete reply

well Algae does make oxygen so maybe there is something to that :D
Tokyo Rose 24th Feb 2015, 7:11 PM edit delete reply

Hilariously, when I first saw that panel, I also had the "wait is that water?" impression. One of the reasons why Gali's even saying that the floor is hard and smooth--I was trying to avoid confusing anybody. :D
plymayer 24th Feb 2015, 2:30 AM edit delete reply

Do not mean to be redundant but this is exciting.
Centcomm 24th Feb 2015, 7:03 AM edit delete reply

hehe glad im keeping it exciting - cant wait till the really cool stuff starts posting :D
DLKmusic 24th Feb 2015, 2:34 PM edit delete reply

The REALLY cool stuff?????

You've already blown us away with first contact imagery that's equal too or better than anything done in any visual media....

and we haven't gotten to the REALLY COOL stuff yet?
Centcomm 24th Feb 2015, 4:29 PM edit delete reply

yep this is just the opening act :D WOO!
mjkj 24th Feb 2015, 3:41 AM edit delete reply

Yayy, it worked, it opened.

It looks great from the inside - especially the shiny floor...

Centcomm 24th Feb 2015, 7:03 AM edit delete reply

yeah these scenes were a pain to render due to all the reflections :D
Sheela 24th Feb 2015, 4:19 PM edit delete reply

How long does a panel like that take to render ?
Centcomm 24th Feb 2015, 4:27 PM edit delete reply

this one took around I think about 45 min to render with all the metal reflections :D
cattservant 24th Feb 2015, 7:44 AM edit delete reply

one step
deeper in
Centcomm 24th Feb 2015, 7:54 AM edit delete reply

yep but wheres the point of no return ! :D
Sheela 24th Feb 2015, 4:19 PM edit delete reply

Around the point where you begin to dubstep!
velvetsanity 24th Feb 2015, 4:42 PM edit delete reply
cattservant 25th Feb 2015, 12:16 AM edit delete reply

immediately after
your second heartbeat
EyeQuestOn 24th Feb 2015, 8:35 AM edit delete reply

Just a thought... Is the ship, is it [male or female?] related to Moya..?
velvetsanity 24th Feb 2015, 3:23 PM edit delete reply

Leviathans don't use singularities for propulsion...
Centcomm 24th Feb 2015, 4:27 PM edit delete reply

well gender is a earth term - it could be both.. or neither :D
Tokyo Rose 24th Feb 2015, 7:09 PM edit delete reply

Earth term, perhaps, but the concept's hardly unique. :D
CyberSkull 24th Feb 2015, 10:57 AM edit delete reply

Never triple-click an icon.
Sheela 24th Feb 2015, 4:20 PM edit delete reply

Why not ?
CyberSkull 25th Feb 2015, 4:27 AM edit delete reply

Most programs don't catch BlasphamyExceptions.
Centcomm 24th Feb 2015, 4:28 PM edit delete reply

crash boom bah! - or you just cofuse the proggy :D
Hornet 24th Feb 2015, 1:02 PM edit delete reply
Follow the Yellow Brick Road. Actually the first thought on seeing behind the doors: "It's a Swamp".
Centcomm 24th Feb 2015, 4:28 PM edit delete reply

hehe guess shes glad to have on her swamp boots.. and be in a fully contained suit :D
Hornet 24th Feb 2015, 5:33 PM edit delete reply
Agreed on the containment suit. Martian Mosquitoes and Methane to choke a horse.
Centcomm 25th Feb 2015, 2:31 AM edit delete reply

good thing her suit is armored :D
Matt Knab 24th Feb 2015, 5:57 PM edit delete reply

The ship IS the alien.
Really hoping it's friendly and not hungry...
Centcomm 25th Feb 2015, 12:52 AM edit delete reply

the door might have said nom nom nom !
Hornet 25th Feb 2015, 1:28 AM edit delete reply
I really don't see that, Living materials growing on the artificial manufactured structure I can see. Kind of like someone using a beanpole to hold up the plants in their vegetable garden.
Centcomm 25th Feb 2015, 2:30 AM edit delete reply

also a possablity :D
Spelledeg 24th Feb 2015, 6:02 PM edit delete reply

Yayy nothing hostile jumped out immediately! That's usually a good sign. I really want to believe along with Gali that they aren't hostile.

Given what the waves cause, if the waves are a form of communication in addition to the weird language...maybe they're some kind of empath-driven species that communicates via that frequency?

Anyway, I love the framing on this page. And wow that floor is very shiny. :) I thought it was liquid at first as well. GO GALI! :D
Centcomm 25th Feb 2015, 2:29 AM edit delete reply

Im hoping Gali doesn't get jumped on by anything Hostile eather .. heck it could be 8 foot tall grey skinned giants with sharp teeth :D ( go check out Black Gate If your curious :D
Spelledeg 25th Feb 2015, 12:28 PM edit delete reply

I know who the aliens really are though. It came to me last night. ;D
Timotheus 25th Feb 2015, 6:26 AM edit delete reply

To me it bears a strong resemblance to the Wizard's palace in the Emerald City. And the floor is a sort of yellowish green. I suppose we'll know if she encounters a bell rope with a sign that says "Bell Broken, Please Knock."
Centcomm 25th Feb 2015, 2:22 PM edit delete reply

hahah ok that would be .. funny as hell but if Galina is Dorthy wheres Toto?
Grismagistus 25th Feb 2015, 3:42 PM edit delete reply
Centcomm 25th Feb 2015, 3:48 PM edit delete reply

ok point .. :D
