I hadnt logged in in several weeks .. I was kinda surprised to find out how packed Vulcan was ..

I went as well, by myself, and with fleet members. There were 196 zones, each packed. I found the the shear number of people standing at attention by the fountain with only the sound of Vulcan wind to be surreal.

I have NEVER seen anything like that in a video game.

This thursday they will be placing a real memorial in STO.

They had something like this when CoH was closing down, Tokamada01. The players had a push one evening to try and get NCSoft to work with the players. People would stand on the steps of the City Hall holding a torch or saluting. They got so many players that it went to 33 instances on the busiest server. And then several of the people STAYED logged in the zone so it wouldn't close. It was still there the last night of the game because they kept that up for a couple months. Even the 'least' busy server had about 10 instances that night too.

Didn't do any good, but it was impressive in its own way. A memorial for the needless 'killing' of a fun pastime for many of us.
