These pages are amazing. Keep up the great work. The artwork is gorgeous and the dialogue shows some of the differences between humanity and the alien Epiphytes.
Sorry the medicine is working you over, but hopefully they will help you. Sure hope you adjust to them and get feeling better soon.
Those are either the best kinds of medication or the absolute worst, depending on what you are supposed to be taking them for.
Massive insomnia problems with a tendency towards panic attacks + adhd? Awesome as a possum.
Disassociate identity disorder or something other condition. It's kinda like "Hi. My name is Zed. Give me your brain mine isn't working right anymore."
But NO pressure, right? Galina shouldn't feel any pressure from the fate of not only humanity but the Epiphytes too. :-D And picking names for all the wonders of an alien race for the history books to put down...
Galina, don't THINK about what you are doing, just follow your instincts and do it like you have been. :-) If you think about it, the PRESSURE would probably paralyze you!
Hey Cent, I'm going through the same thing with my meds. All I can say is that it DOES take time and, in the end, everything SHOULD work out. Remember: life happens, and silly little things like update schedules and answering to posts can take a back seat to your healing.
Anyways, on to today's page! As everyone else has said, the backgrounds are amazing! That must have taken a LOT of time modelling (or whatever it is you do - I'm no artist) and if we haven't gone down the rabbit hole YET, then I think we're going to see some amazing things! Two things I love that you've done with Iris: 1) the way you did her hair in Panel 2 with her braided headpiece; and 2) this is going to sound weird coming from a guy, but I am EXTREMELY happy that you didn't make Iris an exotic, green-skinned, alien bimbo with DDD breasts. Iris has a figure that suits her perfectly, anything (ahem) "larger" on top would both be a stereotype and unnecessary to the point of absurdity.
There are more than enough web comics that feature female characters with enormous breasts (even one that uses it as a plot device), but all women ain't built that way - and I, for one, would get bored if they were! lol
Cent and I have discussed the Epiphytes' physical appearance pretty extensively. It can be a little bit difficult to remove a belly button from some models, so we've had to deal with that, but I've argued against the majority of the humanoid ones even having nipples, which has caused some problems with certain pieces of clothing that literally have nipples built in with no option to shut them off. >_< They can choose their own body shapes, but why would they put the extra energy and effort into growing purely cosmetic details that, by normal human standards, won't be shown in public? (Unless it's to increase surface area, since greater surface area = more photosynthesis potential :D)
Because cosmetic details make the difference between uncanny valley and exotically weird. The body shape and proportions are all close enough to human that you want to keep as many details close as you can, because get a few too many details wrong and they can look horrifically weird. Accordingly, nipples being present makes sense for someone deliberately engaging in human mimicry for purposes of communication/diplomacy/cooperation.
Depending on just how flexible the Epiphytes' ability to alter their physical forms is, there may be other reasons as well. For instance, copying human form more exactly may be desirable in order to better understand human culture and participate in it.
Actually Rose, there might be an explanation for including as much detail as possible.
When the Gee's decided to monitor the Earth, they replicated a Westinghouse product. The technicians had been told that it was an EXACT replica of a device Earth used. Instead of being a satellite from the space division though, their spies had gotten hold of a REFRIGERATOR from home appliances... And that is what they put in orbit. Accurate down to the grill underneath the unit and cooling pipes on back. The technicians couldn't figure out what they were for, but included it because they wanted to keep their jobs. :-D
I hope that someone has had the presence of mind to contact Earth. I suspect that more soldiers could be sent if AM-COM and/or others suspect that the initial party has been overpowered. All that progress could be lost.
As I understand it, HiFranc. They don't have another ship TO send right now. Not that would get there anytime soon at least. They threw their resources into getting Luna Star prepared. Getting another torch ship ready and launched might take longer than a regular ship to reach Saturn. And neither could be there for several months, if I remember correctly.
Re-reading One knows that "homeship" is the correct terminology when they first meet (in episode "They're What?" lunastar.thecomicseries.com/comics/273) but he/it doesn't know now?
Ah, I wonder..., they already where here before, and they seem to know many languages - why would they not know the word Epiphyte? First it is Greek which they know for centuries... true that might have been to make conversation... but it still makes me question that... :)
Sorry the medicine is working you over, but hopefully they will help you. Sure hope you adjust to them and get feeling better soon.
Especially the 4th wall, it gets to ronery! XD
I hope that you're feeling better soon.

Man, I'm so envious!
Here is hoping your body finishes adjusting itself soon!
The power of association...
...and wow, Gali really has a knack for names...
Oh, I hope your meds soon help you without bugging you down. *hugs*

(And best wishes to Cent for a quick recovery from me as well.)

I mean, really, how often to you get to choose the names for aliens and their stuff. This is one for the history books!
And for the lulz .. yeha, definately for the lulz too. :)
a) Making conversation and/or
b) Seeing how she reacts to the question.
