Now this is one of those historical* moments, I think.

*(That you only notice later when you are writing your memoirs.)
Centcomm 14th Aug 2012, 12:18 AM edit delete reply

Yes it is ..
cattservant 14th Aug 2012, 12:35 AM edit delete reply

In a millennium they will be annoying everyone with a ubiquitous communication monopoly!

Auto-Doc was prescient! Dr. Cooper takes 'no time at all' to go hands on mode. Just a few tweaks and A-OK!
Centcomm 14th Aug 2012, 12:20 AM edit delete reply

yeppers Dr Cooper is a good soul :D

A learning experience is when the Universe tells you "You know that thing you just did? Don't do it."
cattservant 14th Aug 2012, 1:44 AM edit delete reply

At least the Universe is kind enough to give you a warning!

Sometimes. ANother quote, this one from John W Campbell jr, possibly the greatest/most important editor the SF field ever had, introducing a story in Astounding Science Fiction:

History doesn't always repeat itself.

Sometimes it just screams "Why don't you listen to me?" and lets fly with a club.
Centcomm 15th Aug 2012, 1:49 AM edit delete reply

ok that comment is made of win :D
cattservant 15th Aug 2012, 1:51 AM edit delete reply

By some odd coincidence I was just reading an old book of short stories from the early 70s that was a tribute to Mr. Campbell that was published shortly after his death.

Or the music store owner in Pterry Pratchett's Soul Music:

"...and if anyone starts to play 'Pathway to Paradise' - rip their 'ead off."

to which his troll shop assistant responds:

"Shouldn't I give 'em a warning first?"

"That'll be their warning!"

If you've ever worked in a music store and had to be anywhere near the guitars, you'll understand...
Centcomm 15th Aug 2012, 1:50 AM edit delete reply

never worked in a music store but its still funny
cattservant 15th Aug 2012, 2:01 AM edit delete reply

Oh my! A new avatar!* Very nice.

*(Hope my fluidity isn't a bad influence!)
Centcomm 15th Aug 2012, 2:31 AM edit delete reply

mushroomisland 15th Aug 2012, 11:12 AM edit delete reply

aw why I liked it lol
velvetsanity 12th Jun 2013, 10:32 AM edit delete reply

And I just randomly got an idea for a music store flash mob...

People come in, one at a time, choose instruments, tune them, and then out of nowhere they start playing Sweet Child O' Mine...and follow it with several other songs :D
mushroomisland 15th Aug 2012, 11:12 AM edit delete reply

Nice people. Great. I doubt if all other people in the world will be just as nice...At least she has friends now!
Centcomm 15th Aug 2012, 11:15 AM edit delete reply

well we have already seen - negitive reactions .. "Perov" and the Doofis brothers ( although they would have been jerkwads to anyone so they are just equal oportunity assholes )
