I think most people's opinions of Jet have just plummeted.

And keep on plummeting.
Centcomm 13th Dec 2012, 12:35 AM edit delete reply

sadly .. poor Jet has no clue.. >_<
GhostRider 17th Nov 2015, 10:50 AM edit delete reply
Well...not really seeing as he has no idea what he's dealing with. Also this android hasn't sparked (at least not yet) so she has no emotion.
cattservant 13th Dec 2012, 12:58 AM edit delete reply

Yea though she walks through the valley of uncanny...

(And Jet just doesn't have a big enough sample for comparative analysis yet.
Give him some more input and time!)
Centcomm 13th Dec 2012, 1:36 AM edit delete reply

yup couldnt agree more...
cattservant 13th Dec 2012, 3:28 AM edit delete reply

In fact;
He is a Prophet though he doesn't know it quite yet.
Public Relations indeed!
cattservant 13th Dec 2012, 1:27 AM edit delete reply

"Public Relations", he said.
Just what is the male/female ratio
on Luna?
Remembering Galina's welcoming committee,
Some readjustment could well be socially beneficial.
Centcomm 13th Dec 2012, 1:36 AM edit delete reply

on Luna currently Males outnumber females at the moment about 4 to 1
cattservant 13th Dec 2012, 1:48 AM edit delete reply

Then there's plenty of motivation for this line of research!
Centcomm 13th Dec 2012, 10:33 AM edit delete reply

yep.. also during this point the "wars" are still going on, and people are killing each other in droves.
cattservant 13th Dec 2012, 10:52 AM edit delete reply

On Luna as well?
The trouble at Nadia Base was internal wasn't it?
velvetsanity 12th Jun 2013, 12:52 PM edit delete reply

It has to have been internal. It wasn't occupied or salvaged.
sigpig 19th Nov 2014, 2:44 PM edit delete reply
I suggest you read "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" by Robert A. Heinlein.
mudge 13th Dec 2012, 2:09 AM edit delete reply
A two-point pressure key? Not a three-finger salute? Hmmm... this will not end well.
Centcomm 13th Dec 2012, 10:34 AM edit delete reply

oh hows that?
cattservant 13th Dec 2012, 2:34 AM edit delete reply

On an extremely
off-sides note:
Wonder if Galina,
When she is older
And much wisertoo,
Will have a penchant
For the 'Booting Up'?!
..>^00^<!!
Centcomm 13th Dec 2012, 10:33 AM edit delete reply

heh :P
cattservant 13th Dec 2012, 10:54 AM edit delete reply

heh indeed.*

*(Leathers and Lasers,
Strange Quarks and Hadrons too!)
CyberSkull 13th Dec 2012, 4:13 AM edit delete reply

Dealing with the poor country cousin is so awkward. One never knows what to say or how to react.
Centcomm 13th Dec 2012, 10:38 AM edit delete reply

Oh so very true.
CyberSkull 13th Dec 2012, 4:34 PM edit delete reply

Actually verbalizing "System Bootstrap"? How gauche.
Death2Bravo 13th Dec 2012, 7:43 AM edit delete reply

Two point pressure key: neat euphemism for a switch. This is still creeping ME out and that's saying something. Those tears make me think she'll turn homicidal with another "two point pressure key".
Centcomm 13th Dec 2012, 10:35 AM edit delete reply

actually the "two point pressure key" one point is under her chin the other is at the base of the skull. sorry if that wasnt clear. and yeah shes a little creepy.
Don B. 13th May 2013, 9:50 PM edit delete reply
She actually reminds me of Kali. Ancestor maybe?
Centcomm 14th May 2013, 2:11 AM edit delete reply

very possable... :D
velvetsanity 12th Jun 2013, 12:53 PM edit delete reply

Kali was my first thought with the facial tattoos and skin tone as well
dpat57 13th Dec 2012, 8:59 AM edit delete reply

Yeeeaaah, don't worry about it. Well maybe just a little.

Interesting thought, though, that an artificial life form would experience Uncanny Valley revulsion. Or is it just thinking of the uses the girl-bot (sorry!) will be put to?
cattservant 13th Dec 2012, 9:50 AM edit delete reply

I don't think the latter switch*
Has closed on Galina's 'board' yet.

*(two point pressure key)
Centcomm 13th Dec 2012, 10:36 AM edit delete reply

A little of both actually. Galina is terrified of being "shut-down" one of the major diffrences is the way Galina and this one store memorys. but ill cover that soon!

and actually Galina is just now understanding what "physical activitys " are she really didnt catch Jet's refernce.
cattservant 13th Dec 2012, 10:48 AM edit delete reply

["Sadly, I couldn't tell him WHY she scared me to my core..."]

Because she has a core for her to scare,
she shudders with sympathy to share...*

*(And when they sort that out,
They can open up a used marine mollusk exoskeleton shop on the shores
of one of the lunar seas.)

<sorry!>
Centcomm 13th Dec 2012, 10:52 AM edit delete reply

ah cat the poet :D hehe finding shells on the moon might be fun ..
cattservant 13th Dec 2012, 11:00 AM edit delete reply

With Galina's linguistic skills,
She ought to be able to say
She sells sea shells on that luna-sea shore!

<shorey!>
Centcomm 13th Dec 2012, 11:16 AM edit delete reply

she can say it in SO many languages. her information on slang is a bit more spotty
cattservant 13th Dec 2012, 11:29 AM edit delete reply

She could limit her lines to leopard limericks..
Fairportfan 14th Dec 2012, 4:08 AM edit delete reply

Heh. Gaia, who's just barely on the right side of the Uncanny Valley, herself, is creeped out by a glimpse of the depths.
Fairportfan 14th Dec 2012, 10:44 AM edit delete reply

Huh. Why did i type "Gaia"?
cattservant 14th Dec 2012, 11:24 AM edit delete reply

Maybe "Luna"?
Centcomm 14th Dec 2012, 12:11 PM edit delete reply

hehe...
Centcomm 14th Dec 2012, 12:11 PM edit delete reply

yep she is but its more than the driods looks that bother her.
HiFranc 11th Apr 2015, 6:51 PM edit delete reply

Is that Kali?
Centcomm 13th Apr 2015, 7:48 AM edit delete reply

Nope :D this is around 870 years before Kali was even designed ..
